Being able to view a computer’s advanced system configuration is crucial for technicians. It’s also convenient for casual users, as it gives them specific information related to their computer’s hardware and software.
To access this area, go to Start>Run and type msinfo32.exe and hit OK. You will see a screen that can be expanded to give practically every detail you’ll ever need to know.
You can also go into the Tools menu and run network diagnostics and the DirectX Diagnostic utility.
