You should actually get a Wireless Access Point (WAP) and plug that into the LAN port of your current router. That''s all you need.

Hi,

I am using D-Link GLB-502T (ADSl2+ Router) and it is connected with my desktop PC and working fine.

But now I want to add one wareless Router for WiFi/ wareless connection with my other two laptop. Which Router would be compatible with my D-Link GLB-502T ? I am planning to purchase D-Link G Router DIR 300 OR Netgear Wirless G54 Router WG R614..
Please help me and also inform me how to configure..

@Dave,
No the modem doesn't have multiple ports in the back. I can connect to the internet with the modem but once I hook up the router it doesn't connect.

Thanks again

Sounds like the modem IS a router. Does the modem have multiple ports in the back? If so, you do not need to use the router. But if you want to use it, make sure the router is in Passive mode, which means it uses the gateway of 192.168.1.254 and does now act as a DHCP server. This basically turns the router into a hub.

I'm having problems connecting to the internet with my D-Link router EBR-2310 (it is not wireless). It was working fine until I replaced the modem which stopped working with a new one. The new modem uses ip address 192.168.1.254 and it is not syncing with the router. My previous modem/router was using 192.168.0.1. I have tried to manually configure the address to no avail.
How do I get the router to work with the new modem, is there anything special I need to do for them to sync up?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Look on your laptop for a button or switch that turns on the WiFi. It's VERY easy to accidentally turn your wireless off. It might be a switch, a button or a function key. You may need to read your laptop manual to find it.

You're saying when you plug the router in, it becomes disconnected? I recommend you sign-up on our message boards at http://www.pctechbytes.net/forums/ so we can help you more.

This seems like a problem with a wireless password that was setup. You can go into the router and reset the WPA password and then you'll know it.
