Control Panel Shortcuts You Must Know

Control panel shortcuts allow you to quickly and easily get to system settings that would normally take you forever to click through. Technicians in the field or even casual users can benefit and become more effecient computer users if they know these commands. To launch these, you can either click Start and then Run or hit the Windows key and the R key. From the Run dialog box, type the following commands to launch the control panels:

Accessibility Options —– access.cpl
Add New Hardware Wizard —– hdwwiz.cpl
Add/Remove Programs —– appwiz.cpl
Date and Time Properties —– timedate.cpl
Display Properties —– desk.cpl
Internet Properties —– inetcpl.cpl
Joystick Properties —– joy.cpl
Keyboard Properties —– main.cpl keyboard
Mouse Properties —– main.cpl
Network Properties —– ncpa.cpl
Password Properties —– password.cpl
Power Management —– powercfg.cpl
Regional settings —– intl.cpl
Sound Properties —– mmsys.cpl sounds
System Properties —– sysdm.cpl
User settings —– nusrmgr.cpl
