A bad BIOS update can kill a motherboard. If the BIOS can't boot enough to update itself, I'm not sure how you can correct the problem. Since it's still under warranty, I would call Dell and tell them it's not working. They might have you send it in for a replacement motherboard.

Hello,

I have had my dell xps 15z for only a weeks now but there were a few things that weren't working as they should have been. I downloaded a dell bios update and ran this. Now my computer now will not even turn on, and I cannot find any help online. Pressing the power button turns on the fans and disk drive but then just turns off again after a few seconds. How can I get it to boot enough to reset the bios and get my computer back up and running?

Thanks in advance.
