I have an Acer Aspire 5251. I do not have a disc but need to reset to factory settings. All I get when booting is a cursor in the upper left hand corner with a blank screen.

I did an acer recovery, but now when I start the computer, it comes up that “windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows click ‘ok’ to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.” Help! I don’t have the actual windows disc because windows came already installs on the computer, not I can’t do anything on my laptop!

It wouldn’t hurt to try the restore again. If it fails, you may need to contact Acer for a set of recovery disks. Good luck.
