Question Title Wireless Zero Configuration

Wireless Zero Configuration

If you have XP or Vista you will probably want to take advantage of the Wireless Zero Configuration service. This allows your Operating System to interact with your wireless network adapter without the need for special software that came in the box with the network adapter.

Allowing Windows to handle the network device means less configuration on your part. Also some third-party software also looks complicated when trying to configure your device. The Wireless Zero Configuration provides a clean and familiar Window screen that is easy to navigate and understand.

When installing a new wireless card, you will often insert the CD that came with the network card and run the installation program. If you plan on using Wireless Zero Configuration in Windows XP or Vista , just install the card or plug in the USB device that will serve as your network adapter and boot the computer.

In theory, Windows should see the wireless device and software for the card should be installed automatically. If not, you may need to go ahead and install the CD that came with it, and we can later enable Wireless Zero Configuration to take over the responsibility.

To enable Wireless Zero Configuration manually, login as admin and proceed to the Control Panel. Click the icon for the Administrator Tools and then look for Services. Scroll down the long list of services and click Wireless Zero Configuration. You can set the service to start automatically, which means each time you boot your PC, the service will take control of your wireless card.
