Question Title Implementing Kerberos

Implementing Kerbos

All current Windows operating and network operating systems have W32time.exe. This program uses the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) in the TCP/IP protocol stack. This allows the domain controller to synchronize the clocks of the workstations when they first boot. Synchronous clocks are required in order for Kerberos authentication to go smoothly. You need a “Kerberos server.” A Kerberos server provides up two three services, and these services can be on one or multiple machines.

As the network grows, the “Kerberos server” will have to dish out more and more packets. If you want the machine that is running the “Kerberos server” to do other tasks and free up system resources, you can break up the protocol into what is called realms. Realms basically mean a “Kerberos server” on each domain. The RemoteTGS then authenticates with the service on the other domain.
