Fun With Firefox

Internet Security

12 Days to a Healthy PC is designed to help you quickly make your computer faster, more responsive and healthier. We have listed steps beginning with Day 1 in order of importance. The view them all, begin here.

Day 12

Firefox Challenge

Breaking up is hard to do, especially when it comes to your web browser. If you have been staring at the same browser for the past ten years, then we have a new one for you. Why are we recommending Firefox? Since this is a twelve days to a healthy PC article, we feel that currently protects a little better than the others against Spyware and other exploits.

You have a healthy computer if you've followed the steps preceding day 12. We now want you to try the Firefox challenge for two weeks and see if you end up with as many problems with your system as you had before. We are not saying that Firefox is invincible, but based on our own personally experiences, we have had fewer popup-ups, fewer pop-unders and wind up with a lot less spyware on our computers.

Clear your private information. Firefox also makes it easy to protect your privacy by allowing you to automatically clear your downloads history, and makes it easy to clear your history and cache, as well.

There are a lot of other features, such as tabbed browsing, themes, extensions and integrated search bard that make Firefox fun to use, but didn't explore those features because they don't necessarily make your system more secure. They are fun and improve usability, and once your Firefox challenge has passed, we're confident you'll choose to stay with the new browser. We have.
