I have a ASUS K50IJ-X5C Laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium

The taskbar is working fine, but my battery icon has dissapeared.
I go into the Properties --> Notifications --> Turn sytem icons on/off
And all of the System Icons have a changable behavioral status to On or Off

The Power Options icon is set to Off and I can not switch it on. (Even after multiple Restarts)
What is wrong?

Can anyone explain why this message is popping up and if your going to
refer me to some antivirus or spyware please explain why.
Also how to turn it on would be great.

Thanks

Did you see if that option was grayed out if the computer is unplugged?

The option is grayed out no matter wether the laptop is pluged in or not. It's quite frustrating!

I figured it out. The Selection was greyed out because somehow the driver went missing in the computer and couldn't run the program.

What I did was go into Administrative tools then went into computer management to the Device Manager. Selected the Battery Icon. I then right-clicked to select Update Driver Software... from this I went to Browse folders, then clicked "let me pick from installed drivers" and it found the driver.

It works Alright now!
