Need to remotely connect to computers what should I use

Teamviewer is what I use a lot.

Is it easy enough for a seniors to allow me access too

I agree with Teamviewer, and yes it is very easy. They will launch TeamViewer and then give you an ID and password that displays on their end. Once you put that info into YOUR TeamViewer, the connection is established and you will see their screen and have the ability to take control of the mouse, chat, and even transfer files. The ID and password changes with every session for security, so they will not need to worry about you having continuous access to their computer.

Do you know if transfer speed is any good or should I use Dropbox for file transfer

Dropbox would be quicker.  Im not 100% sure but they may not allow file transfer in the free version of Teamviewer.  I know they do in the paid version.
