DDoS - Acronym for Distributed Denial of Service attack. An attack on a remote destination with a collection of PCs often
under the control of a virus or trojan.
Decryption - The act of restoring encrypted data.
Defrag - The act of rearranging data on a hard drive to for a contigious sectors to improve speed and hard drive health.
Device Driver - A piece of software that helps a hardware component communicate with the Operating System.
Device Manager - An area in the Control Panel under the System icon that shows all of the hardware devices in the PC.
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) A DHCP server automatically provides IP addresses for devices when they connect to a network. Typicall, DHCP is handled by a router.
