Computer Tech Glossary

Java - A programming language developed by Sun Microsystems. A lot of websites rely on Java to produce effects, and a user will often need to visit the Java website to download a plugin for their web browser.

.jpeg - a .jpeg is a file extension that identifies a file as being an image using the JPEG format.

Jumper - a tiny clip on a device that allows a circuit to be activated. An example would be the jumper on the back of a hard drive for Master, Slave or Cable Select.
