We just wanted to open your eyes to the great search engines out there you may not have used or heard of.

DuckDuckGo – DuckDuckGo is PCTechBytes’ favorite search engine. It reminds me of the old Google. Less clutter, more relevant search results and you feel like your privacy is intact. If searching the other engines gives you the creeps, try DuckDuckGo and we’re sure you’ll be pleased with the results.

Scour – It is a multi-search engine that combines the results of Google, Live and Yahoo. In addition, it also sorts by Scour ranking. You can login and vote a website up or down in the rankings. You, the user, get to promote relevant sites and move poor-quality sites to the basement where they belong.

Indeed – Indeed is an employment search engine. It pulls in the results of all the major job search sites like Dice, Careerbuilder and Monster (among others). It is very customizable, and has a simple interface. Indeed is very useful if you’re out of work or looking for a new job.

Sputtr – Sputtr is really neat. It has a search box with buttons from numerous popular engines and websites, such as Digg, Wikipedia, YouTube, and all of the major search engines. Type in your search, then click the button to reveal the search results from that particular site. Very efficient search tool.
