The Panda Cloud Antivirus has come out of Beta testing and is available for download. This particular antivirus is different than other real-time antivirus solutions because it is constantly connected to the Internet and updated on the fly. In theory, if a new virus explodes across the Internet, you will be protected is Panda knows about it. Otherwise, you would need to rely on daily or weekly updates most other antivirus software conduct.
While Panda Cloud Antivirus touts itself as being the first antivirus in the cloud (meaning the Internet), it is installed on your computer. The cloud reference simply means it is continuously checking their Internet database for new threats and offering this real-time protection to your PC. This is a great idea for zero-day exploits that take advantage of that narrow window of time between the discovery of a new virus and the updating of a users antivirus.
Panda Antivirus has been a great commercial program int he past and this free version looks very promising. It’s worth trying. As with any new antivirus installation, make sure you completely uninstall any current antivirus product you are running.
