Hide Files Within Other Files

There are a few methods for regulating access to sensitive files in the Windows Operating System. Encryption and setting up password protection are two effective ways of accomplishing the aforementioned goal. There is one much more fun way of keeping your files on your computer from unauthorized access. Windows users can hide files inside of other files using specialized software packages. This method is comparatively hassle free and might be more suitable for use on a business laptop or other Windows operating mobile devices.

There are programs in the market that can hide only certain types of files into other files. This corresponds to limited functionality. I opt to use programs that allow me to hide varied and multiple files into other files. One such software package is DeEgger Embedder. This security program is able to hide multiple files into other files without changing the file extension of the host file. The only noticeable change in the host file is its size.

DeEgger has a very user-friendly interface with no tricky advanced commands to cause confusion. Once running, the user sees three straightforward text boxes titled, “Select a host file”, “Select the file to embed” and “Log”, respectively. After choosing your file(s), simply click the Combine button at the bottom left corner. The Extract button sits next to the Combine button and reverses the hiding procedure. There is also a Settings button at the bottom right hand corner that allows users to tweak a few things in the ‘hiding’ and ‘de-hiding’ processes.

I have been using DeEgger Embedder for a while now and have not encountered any problems. It is an incredibly useful and simple application and I recommend it to ALL regardless of experience level.  I would recommend this package that could potentially help many hide their ‘cheeky’ image files from curious eyes.

The CNET site is a bit flashy. Just click the green Download Now button toward the top of that page and ignore everything else.
