Windows 7 has a lot of great options to make it your own. Theme packs are one of them. A theme pack is a collection of images that can remain static as your desktop background or function as a sideshow that automatically changes the picture in regular intervals. Windows regularly updates these theme packs so you can always be sure your Windows PC always has a fresh background for whatever mood you’re in. The following tutorial shows you how to download and install a new Windows theme from the official Microsoft Windows website.
Download and Install New Windows 7 Themes
To change your Windows 7 theme, right-click a blank area of the desktop and select Personalization.
You can also get to the Personalization section through the Appearance and Personalization section of the Control Panel.
You can select any of the default themes you already have or click the Get more themes online link in the upper right corner. This will take you to the Windows website.
The best way to get more information on any of the themes listed is to choose the Preview themes link near the top of the page. You will then be able to choose any of the themes you want to take a closer look at.
When you find a theme you like, just click the Download this themepack link and click enter. A pop-up box will ask if you want to Open or Save. Click Open to begin using the new themepack right away.
You can either run the new theme in its default state, or click the options at the bottom of the themes Window.
In the example above, we’re changing how frequently we’ll be changing the theme’s picture from every twenty minutes to every 30 seconds. You can even tick the Shuffle box to show a random picture from that pack when the picture changes.
