Linux in VB

Question

In another post I stated that I had removed Linux from one of my main computers, was going to install in on another computer until I could get up to speed with some of the more refined elements of using Linux.  Well, I decided instead to load Linux Mint 18.3 in VB.  Loaded, and set up, Linux and got the message that Linux was running in software rendering mode and has no video hardware acceleration.

Linux, in VB, runs so slow that I can hardly use the darned thing.  I think, if I am right, that the reason is that hardware acceleration isn't working.  So what do I do to fix the problem, or should I simply throw all my computers in the trash and start twiddling my thumbs.:blush::wink:

I know it is not something everyone can do, but you sir would benefit from buying a new PC.  I say this simply because you will avoid a ton of issues you have had in the past.  Right now you are trying to get the newest versions of software to work with older PCs hardware and it can become a pain as you are seeing.  Maybe a early Xmas present, lol??

That being said, see here for possible fix: https://www.easytechguides.com/linux-mint-video-hardware-acceleration-problem.html
