Random restarts

Question

Laptop restarts on it's own. I am not receiving any crash reports. Not sure where to begin.

Windows 10 64 bit . Recently updated HD to a cheap ssd 250gb. Was working fine for couple weeks after.

Also keep losing internet even though still connected to network. Other devices on network have no issue.

Hi Jandar,

It could be MS is doing updates,  it will restart on it's own unless you are there telling it not to,  your hard drive should have nothing at all to do with anything but I would check out your drivers first,  in my opinion you can not be connected to the network and have no network connection unless you are blocked maybe or do not have permission,  the network will show you it is there...but getting authenticated to get on the network may be a different matter,  settings may have been changed on your IP address or node (computer) settings to prevent you from connecting,  anything else you can tell us ?

I believe it may be overheating. But I thought that would generate a crash report of some kind. It first started happening I had had it on my comforter on my bed and I guess the display went al screwed up and my wife forced it off. I wasnt in the room. I downloaded an app that shows me temps and it hits up to 65 deg C at points. Windows usually has messages that its updating this just restarts and no update message displayed. Laptop is pretty old. Almost 10 yrs

You will likely need to rethermal paste the CPU/heatsink and clean it out.  That shoudl take care of your overheating unless you have fan issues.
