You can use the Lenovo OneKey Recovery utility on your computer to restore the partition back to factory condition. The recovery partition is a hidden portion of the main drive that has a factory image on it that can be used to overwrite your C drive in the even it ever becomes corrupt. The OneKey utility also allows you to create a system image and save it to another location.
How To Use Lenovo OneKey Recovery
The Lenovo OneKey Recovery system is software designed to back up and restore your computer. You can use it to restore the system partition to its original status in case of a system failure. But you can also create user backups for easy restoration as required. Creating these incremental backups are a good idea as you install software and Windows Updates.
How To Backup Your Partition
Your Lenovo computer comes with a built-in utility for creating backups. Use the Lenovo OneKey utility to save your backups to the existing hard drive, or to an external hard drive.
You can back up the system partition to an image file. To back up the system partition:
Press the Novo button to start the Lenovo OneKey Recovery system. Next, click System Backup. Select a back-up location and then click Next to start the backup. If you are creating a system backup, it’s best to keep it on an external hard drive in case the internal drive fails.
Restoring Your Backup
You can choose to restore the system partition to its original status or to a
previously created back-up point. To restore the system partition:
- Press the Novo button to start the Lenovo OneKey Recovery system.
- Click System Recovery. The computer will restart to the recovery environment.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to restore the system partition to its
original status or to a previously created back-up point
If Windows cannot be started, then follow the steps below to start the Lenovo OneKey Recovery system:
- Shut down the computer.
- Press the Novo button. From the Novo button menu, select the Lenovo OneKey Recovery system and press Enter.
