You can speed up your Mac computer by performing simple maintenance. Unfortunately, there isn’t a fast and efficient way to do this in OS X. MacCleaning Free is a great all-in-one Mac cleanup utility that also combines a disk space monitor and disk ejector. It cleans junk files with one-click and is the easiest way we’ve found to keep your Mac clean and running smoothly with the performance you expect.
After installing, it inserts itself in the upper menu bar and displays a graphic showing the amount of disk space you have available. Clicking the graphic will drop down a menu displaying all of the drives you currently have mounted, as well as a few options to perform Fast Clean and set your preferences.
Fast Clean is the one-click option for cleaning those caches that gradually fill and bog down your Mac.
You can set it to clean System Caches, User Caches, System Logs and User Logs, as well as purge the Trash and User Download Folders.
Another great feature in the drop down menu is the convenient eject button to quickly and safely dismount any drive you wish. This is much easier than going to the desktop, locating the drive, and then dragging it into the Trash to dismount.
Setup Preferences To Speed Up Your Mac Computer
As stated above you can quickly clean your System Caches, User Caches, System Logs and User Logs, as well as purge the Trash and User Download Folders. You can toggle some of these to Fast Clean, or set them each to “On” to do a full cleaning of those files.
To toggle which caches and logs you want to Fast Clean, open the Preferences option from the menu, and then move the slider from Off to On to select your option. For instance some may prefer not to empty the Trash automatically or purge the downloads folder, so these switches make the program highly customizable to fit your needs.
When Fast Clean is clicked, it immediately begins cleaning the items you selected in the Preferences option. If you have not performed routine maintenance on your Mac in a while, you will notice an improvement in performance the first time you use it. We recommend using Fast Clean at least once a month–more if you use your Mac a lot.
You can download MacCleaning Free here. The system requirements are: Mac OS X 10.6 or later, 512 MB of RAM or more, 2.8 MB of available hard disk space. Speed up your Mac computer today and let us know what you think.
